First Coast Administrative Professionals Thank Brooks for Support

Brooks Rehabilitation is a strong supporter of community initiatives. In June 2006, with the support of Brooks CEO Doug Baer, Julie Smith formed the First Coast Chapter International Association for Administrative Professionals (IAAP) to develop an avenue for continued education and development for administrative professionals. In June 2014, IAAP decided to dissolve all chapters and divisions, replacing them with regional districts. At that time, Julie and the IAAP Board formed their own administrative professionals organization, the First Coast Administrative Professionals, Inc. (FCAP).

From June 2006 through June 2017, Brooks provided FCAP a place for Board meetings and their monthly educational meetings, assisted at times with excellent speakers and topics of continued educational development. Plus, Brooks was a major supporter of their annual Administrative Professionals Day luncheon every April since 2006!

In June 2017, FCAP sadly made the decision to dissolve the organization due to lack of membership and member participation. Many members’ companies could no longer subsidize their dues and members weren’t able to maintain membership dues on their own. It was not an easy decision to make. At their May 2017 member meeting, the FCAP Board shared with its member the plans to dissolve. The group decided that the proceeds in the FCAP bank account would be donated to Brooks Rehabilitation to show Mr. Baer how much Brooks’ support meant over the organization’s 11-year existence.

On December 4, 2017, the FCAP board presented Doug Baer, CEO, and Marion Anderson, Executive Director of the Foundation with a check for $7,283.25!

We wanted to take this time to extend our deepest gratitude to the members of FCAP board. Your donations and support are greatly appreciated.
