During your time with us, you can be sure that you will be cared for by a team of the experts you will need. Board-certified physiatrists work closely with certified rehabilitation registered nurses, therapists from various specialties, psychologists and, most importantly, you and your family.

Your treatment team may include the following members as needed in your individualized plan of care:

Physiatrist – medical doctor specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation
Rehabilitation nurse – registered nurse (R.N.) specializing in rehabilitation
Physical therapist – to focus on mobility while reducing pain and improving strength, balance and coordination
Occupational therapist – to address activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing and toileting, as well as homemaking skills
Speech-language pathologist – to treat speech, language, voice and swallowing conditions
Cognitive therapist – to help patients improve deficits such as poor concentration, reasoning and problem-solving
Aquatic therapist – to promote muscle relaxation, strengthening and improved circulation in a low-impact, relaxing environment
Biofeedback therapist – to teach patients to improve their health and performance by using signals from their own bodies
Recreation therapist – to use recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the social, emotional and spiritual functioning of each patient
Psychologist – to educate and counsel patients and families after a significant life change
Neuropsychologist – to identify the direct consequences of an injury on the patient's thinking and behavior
Case manager – to act as an advocate for the patient and family
Dietitian – to help patients eat a healthy and appropriate diet
Chaplain – to offer patients spiritual support or just a friend to talk to
