How do I participate in a trial?

The Brooks Center for Rehabilitation Studies offers the opportunity to participate in a variety of rehabilitation research trials.  Some of these trials look at improving walking, communication, balance or swallowing problems. Individuals who have experienced a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, low back pain or swallowing problems may be eligible. Individuals not included in one of these groups may also benefit from participation in a trial.

Each research trial has specific requirements for participation and most will require some kind of testing or screening to determine if you are eligible for a current trial.  Many times, this can be determined by simply calling the Research Center to find out if there is a study that may help you or a family member.  For more information, or to talk to a research representative, please call (904) 306-8970 or e-mail fsinglet@phhp.ufl.edu.
